How to Install and Activate MultiRack

Important note: The last Waves plugin version supported in MultiRack is v10.

Learn how to download and install MultiRack (Native / SoundGrid) using an offline installer and activate its license via Waves Central. MultiRack is no longer available for online installation via Waves Central. The same steps apply for SoundGrid Studio and StudioRack V9.

Make sure that your system supports MultiRack (or SoundGrid Studio / StudioRack V9).

Step #1 Activate your Multirack License:

  1. Download and install Waves Central for | Windows.
    If you already have Waves Central installed, skip to step 2.

  2. Launch Waves Central.
    Windows: via the desktop shortcut or Start Menu > All Programs > Waves Central.
    Mac: Applications > Waves Central.

  3. Log into Waves Central using your Waves.com account information.

  4. Select the Licenses page on the left bar.

  5. Select Not Activated at the top of the page.

  6. Choose the MultiRack (or SoundGrid Studio / StudioRack V9) license you wish to activate. Selected licenses will appear in the list on the right.

  7. Choose the target device for the activated license/s.

  8. Click the Activate button.

Step #2: Install the MultiRack application

  1. Quit any host application.

  2. Download the Offline Installation Folder* for | .

    * The Offline Installer includes MultiRack, SoundGrid Studio, StudioRack, & All V9 SoundGrid I/O Drivers.

  3. Unzip the folder to your desktop.

  4. Launch the Waves Central application on the computer where your licenses are activated.
    Windows: via the desktop shortcut or Start Menu > All Programs > Waves Central.
    Mac: Applications > Waves Central.

  5. If you do not have Waves Central installed, install it using the .exe/.dmg installer in the folder that you have just downloaded.

  6. Access the Offline Installer Page in Waves Central; under Install from an Offline Installer, click Browse.

  7. Browse to your Desktop > ‘Waves - V9 SG drivers and apps - 22.4.20’ and click Open

  8. From the list, select to install MultiRack (or SoundGrid Studio / StudioRack V9) and the IO module/s relevant to your setup.

  9. Click Install.

Step #3: Install and activate supported Plugins

MultiRack, SoundGrid Studio, and SuperRack V9 support V9 and V10 plugins only..

  • If you have newer plugin licenses, activate those new licenses, but install V10 plugins if using MultiRack. Refer to this article for the download link and instructions.
  • Current version licenses will activate older version software (V9 and above), if the product/s in question exist in this software version.
  • To check if a plugin exists in an older version, scroll to the bottom of the older version's download page.

Your Products are now installed and activated.
